Oh, how I <3 summer! So many little birdies out and chirping, the squirrels romping, and chipmunks out stuffing their cheeks with nuts. I may no longer be a spring chicken, but these lovely little animals make me feel like a new man -- they bring tears to my soul!
Susanna and I spent a relaxing 4th of July weekend in Atlantic City. I won at blackjack, $373! It is good to be home now, though. I missed my friends the animals.

w00t w00t w00t! It is spring, and I have a spring in my step and in my heart. I <3 spring, with all of the flowers and cute little bunnies.
I just finished doing our taxes. They were pretty easy to do, since I am a househusband and all, and I don't make any money.
The other day I watched Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life". It really got me thinking; I hope I die like that guy does in the movie, being chased by the girls with the helmets. The movie covered all of the phases of life, and I find myself to be in the Autumn Years part. I have had a good life and I am enjoying being a house husband now. It is so peaceful staying at home and watching The Price is Right every weekday morning. Plus I always have my favorite book to read. Yes, I think that is the meaning of my life, to read and tell others about "What Comes Around".
I leave you all with a enthusiastic "w00t"!

Happy birthday to me! Today is my 61st birthday, w00t! I am so happy, it brings tears to my soul. Some friends of mine made me a birthday cake, and last night we had a big party to celebrate my birthday and Mardi Gras. I got lots and lots of beads, but I gave a lot of them away to some hot girls. I am such a ladies man. That should be my middle name; George K. "Ladies Man" Hemming. Yes, I <3 it.
I have birthday festivities to go to, so this entry will be short. A very merry unbirthday to all of you, and I <3 you all for wishing me a happy birthday.

I had a nice day today. I went ice fishing, then came home and played on the "information superhighway" a bit. Look what I found:

Only 38%, w00t! Question number 53, "And is there anyone you don't like?" made me think for a bit. I really do <3 everyone, even people with wet pants.
I am looking forward to Christmas. It has become more and more enjoyable to me as the years pass. I am also getting better at repressing the memories of my childhood and the awful, drunken family melees that used to define the holidays. My mother always said that nothing says "I love you" like a dying pine tree in your living room with ugly things hung on it and poorly-wrapped, regifted presents beneath. I disagree. Christmas is about Jesus, and I <3 Jesus, almost as much as that girl does in "Drop Dead Gorgeous" who danced with him on a cross while singing "It's just too good to be true/can't take my eyes off of you/you'd be like heaven to touch/I wanna hold you so much/at long last love has arrived/and I thank God I'm alive/you're just too good to be true/can't take my eyes off of you".
I regress.
Oh, and for all of my friends out there, I would like to leave you with my Christmas wish list: - a new copy of "What Goes Around" - cat food - a cashmere scarf - a combination radio/flashlight - a hat with ear flaps on it (w00t, I won't need my earmuffs anymore! muff, hehe) - an ab roller - a subscription to Playboy - Stacy's Mom

"Done so soon?" she said to me when I opened up the door to our bedroom.
I just blinked at her. I'm not a spring chicken anymore, yo.

1. Copy this whole list into your journal. 2. Bold the things that you have in common with me. 3. Whatever you don't bold, replace with things about you.
( 01. I love cats. )

Hmm, it's been a while since I've updated. Not much has happened since then, though. I've basically been doing the same old househusband thing. Today I tried painting a bit to keep me occupied, which was a success (at least for a few hours). w00t.
I watched a bit of the Bachelorette's wedding earlier this week. It makes me happy to see happy young people getting married. It reminds me of Susanna and I back in the day. We could ... well, I don't think I should get into that. *sigh* Oh, but I digress. Perhaps I should save the rest of this post for another day.

Susanna left for work about an hour ago, and I still have 18 minutes before "The Price is Right" comes on, and I am planning my day. I will go out for a walk after "The Price is Right", then come home and do some laundry, then bring the cats back to the vet for a followup and clean the bathrooms. Then I will watch "Judge Judy" and water the plants, go to the post office to pick up a parcel, and get dinner ready for when Susanna comes home from work.

I like it.
Audrey Hepburn... *sigh* If only I had been a bit older when she was young.
I love that movie - the crackerjack box bring back so many memories, of days past, and clutching my prizes desperately, hoping to some day go to New York, and searching all the stores for a long cigarette holder.
But I grew out of that phase and have more realist goals.. Like that cute gal in the bookstore.. she's the one who directed me to What Comes Around.

Even after reading it 12 times, that book still brings tears to my soul.
Pardon me, but I need a moment for self-reflection, and I thought that this would be a proper venue for it. I feel as though I am looking at the world for the first time, and I have found meaning in my househusbandry. As lonely as I get sometimes sitting around all day, waiting for my wife to come home so I can cook her supper, at least I know that I am not truly alone in the world, for I have found this book. Tonight I think I will watch the episode of "The Price is Right" that I videotaped from yesterday, when I was out taking my cats to the vet. I can't wait to find out if someone will win spin that wheel and win eleventy billion dollars, or win a car or something really exciting like a kitchen set!

I am bored already. I suppose that's just part of the househusbandry.
I think I will read "What Goes Around" again!

I just finished reading "What Goes Around" for the eleventh time. I <3 that book.
Here is the review that I sent to amazon.com:
As a house husband, I can truly say that this book has given me a new lease on life. I had spent the past 60 years searching for meaning, but after reading this book, I have finally found happiness!!! "What goes around" really comes around!!!!!
The use of language in the book "totally rocks," as they say. Take, for example, this masterful passage:
"What are you on about?" He frowned, checking the toast.
Truly astounding. It brings tears to my soul every time.
Until this book "came around", all I had in my life were Judge Judy reruns, Days of Our Lives, and those nice young men from Jehovah's witnesses that visit every Tuesday. This amazing novel has helped me to gain insight into the feminine mystique, and my wife and I have never been closer.
EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
When are they going to make a movie? The guy who plays Captain Picard would be perfect for the role of Max.
This book would best be described as "w00t!"
